LANSING, MI—April 5, 2010—C2AE has added two medical planning architects to its Health Care Services team. Stephen Dickerson, AIA and Thomas McKercher, AIA. Each has over 22 years of experience in the planning, design, and implementation of health care facilities throughout the United States. Both are based in the Grand Rapids office.
Steve Dickerson joined C2AE in November 2009 as the new Director of Health Care Services. Steve has extensive hospital, ophthalmology, surgery center, orthopedics, and master planning experience for some of the most prominent facilities throughout the US and Canada, including the Cleveland Clinic (Cleveland, OH), Capital Health (Edmonton, AL), and Stryker Instruments and Stryker Medical (Kalamazoo, MI). Steve has lectured on the design of surgical facilities, ambulatory care facilities and simulation centers, and specializes in the design and development of prototype surgery facilities. Steve received his Bachelor of Science and Bachelor of Architecture from Ball State University.
Tom McKercher came aboard in January 2010 as a Project Manager, and will also play a key role in business development and marketing for the C2AE Health Design team. Tom has extensive ophthalmology, surgery center and medical planning experience, and has worked in wide variety of hospital, academic, and private sector environments. He has lead the design efforts for prominent organizations such as Boston Medical Center (Boston, MA), Massachusetts Eye and Ear Infirmary (Boston, MA), Cincinnati Eye Institute (Cincinnati, OH), and Graystone Eye (Hickory, NC). Tom has also written numerous articles and lectured at length on the topic of facility design and patient flow efficiency. Tom graduated with his Masters of Architecture from the University of Michigan, and his Bachelor of Science from Ohio State University.
